In the second quarter of 2024, the food delivery service apps continued to serve a significant number of users on the Android platform. Based on data from Sensor Tower, let's take a look at how the top five contenders fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste saw a fluctuating download trend starting at 29K in the first week of April and peaking at 36K in the second week, before settling down to 23K by the end of June. Weekly active users started strong at 1.1M but saw a gradual decline to 962K over the quarter.
Lieferando.de experienced a similar pattern, with downloads beginning at 17K and reaching a high of 19K in the final week of June. The app's weekly active users showed a dip from 553K to 481K in early April, followed by some recovery and another dip, ending the quarter with 490K active users.
Picnic Online Supermarket downloads saw a gradual increase from 16K to 18K, while weekly active users showed more variability, starting at 130K, peaking at 142K in late May, and closing the quarter at 144K.
Wolt Delivery: Food and more had a relatively stable download count, starting at 16K and ending at around 12K, while its weekly active users ranged from 32K at the start of April to 32K by the end of June, displaying a mid-quarter dip and recovery.
Lastly, Uber Eats: Food Delivery showed a slight decrease in downloads from 14K to 14K from the beginning to the end of the quarter. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at 25K and ending at 27K.
